The Patient Journey for Dental Implant Treatment at Nádor Dental Clinic

21/05/2026 | Nádor Dental
Losing a tooth can affect much more than your smile. Missing teeth may influence your confidence, speech, chewing ability, and long-term oral health. Fortunately, modern dental implantation offers a safe, long-lasting, and highly aesthetic solution.
At Nádor Dental Clinic, we understand that many patients may feel uncertain about the implant process, especially when travelling abroad for treatment.
This is why we aim to make every step clear, comfortable, and carefully planned.

Below, we guide you through the typical patient journey when dental implantation is required.

  1. Initial Consultation and Diagnostic Assessment

The process begins with a detailed consultation. Patients can either visit the clinic in person or begin with an online assessment by sending panoramic X-rays and their dental history.

For dental implantation, a CT scan (3D image) is essential, as it allows our specialists to accurately evaluate bone structure, bone density, nerve positioning, and overall suitability for implants.

Precise imaging is one of the most important steps in ensuring safe and successful implant treatment.

At Nádor Dental Clinic, we have our own modern CT scanning machine available on-site for the convenience of our patients.

Although some patients may already have CT scans taken elsewhere, these files are often extremely large and can be difficult to transfer electronically.

In addition, different clinics frequently use different software systems to open and analyse CT scan files.

For compatibility, diagnostic accuracy, and data security reasons, it is often preferable for the CT scan to be performed and reviewed directly at our clinic.

Consultation with Dr. Németh

During the consultation and imaging process, our dental specialists evaluate:

  • The condition of the teeth and gums
  • Bone density and jaw structure
  • Overall oral health
  • Medical history and suitability for implants

Based on the examination, a personalised treatment plan is prepared, including:

  • Recommended procedures
  • Number of implants required
  • Estimated treatment duration
  • Healing periods
  • Transparent pricing

Our team ensures that every patient fully understands the proposed treatment before proceeding.

Prices:

The consultation, including oral cancer screening and a CBCT scan, costs HUF 31,000 at our clinic.

Based on the diagnostic images, we provide a detailed written treatment plan, and our specialist dentist will explain the entire treatment process in English.

You are welcome to ask as many questions as you wish during the consultation to ensure that you feel fully informed, comfortable, and confident about your treatment options and the proposed procedure.

  1. Preparatory Treatments (If Necessary)

Before implantation, some patients may require additional dental procedures to create the ideal foundation for implants.

These may include:

  • Tooth extractions
  • Professional dental cleaning
  • Gum treatment
  • Bone grafting or sinus lift procedures

If preparatory treatments are necessary, the treatment timeline will be adjusted accordingly to ensure optimal healing and long-term success.

  1. Implant Placement Procedure

The implant placement itself is a routine surgical procedure performed under local anaesthesia.

A titanium implant is carefully inserted into the jawbone, where it acts as an artificial tooth root. The procedure is generally comfortable, and most patients report minimal discomfort afterwards.

At our clinic we work with Nobel Biocare and ICX implants.

Depending on the individual case, temporary teeth may be provided during the healing phase to maintain aesthetics and functionality.

  1. PRF procedure if recommended

At Nádor Dental Clinic, PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) treatment is also available as part of selected surgical and implant procedures.

PRF is an advanced regenerative technique that uses the patient’s own blood to support faster healing, reduce post-operative discomfort, and promote natural tissue regeneration.

It may be particularly beneficial during implant placement, bone grafting, sinus elevation procedures, and other oral surgical treatments.

Our specialists will advise whether PRF treatment is recommended as part of your personalised treatment plan.

  1. Healing and Osseointegration

Following implant placement, a healing period is required. During this stage, the implant gradually integrates with the jawbone through a natural process called osseointegration.

This healing phase usually takes between 3 to 6 months, depending on:

  • Bone quality
  • Number of implants
  • Overall health and healing capacity

Good oral hygiene and regular follow-up appointments are essential during this period.

For international patients, our clinic helps organise treatment visits efficiently to minimise travel requirements.

  1. Final Restoration

Once healing is complete, the final restoration phase begins.

Following implant placement, the first step is the exposure (uncovering) of the implant, which is necessary before the final restoration can proceed.

This procedure is preferably carried out approximately one week later, but in certain cases it may be performed at least one day later, depending on the healing process and the treatment plan recommended by the oral surgeon.

Custom-made crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures are attached to the implants, restoring both function and appearance.

At Nádor Dental Clinic, we focus on achieving natural-looking, durable, and aesthetically pleasing results tailored to each patient’s smile.

 After Treatment

Patients can once again enjoy:

  • Comfortable chewing
  • Improved speech
  • Enhanced confidence
  • Long-term oral stability

  1. Conscious Sedation for Anxious Patients

At Nádor Dental Clinic, all treatments are available under conscious sedation for patients who may feel anxious or uncomfortable during dental procedures.

Conscious sedation helps patients feel deeply relaxed while remaining awake and responsive throughout the treatment.

It is a safe and effective option for longer procedures, implant surgery, oral surgery, and for patients with dental anxiety or fear.

Our experienced medical team carefully monitors patients throughout the entire procedure to ensure maximum comfort and safety.

During the consultation, our specialists can advise whether conscious sedation would be suitable for your treatment plan.

Important Information About Implant Suitability

While dental implants are a highly successful and predictable treatment option in most cases, it is important for patients to understand that there are situations where implantation may ultimately not be possible.

Even with detailed consultations, panoramic X-rays, and CT scans, certain clinical conditions can only be fully evaluated during the surgical procedure itself.

Factors such as bone quality, bone stability, anatomical limitations, hidden inflammation, or other unexpected findings may affect whether an implant can be safely and successfully placed.

For this reason, implant specialists may sometimes explain in advance that the final decision regarding implantation can only be confirmed during surgery after direct clinical assessment of the area.

At Nádor Dental Clinic, patient safety and long-term treatment success are always our highest priorities.

A responsible and ethical oral surgeon must make decisions based on professional medical judgment and established clinical protocols.

If circumstances indicate that proceeding with implantation would carry a significant risk of failure, complications, or compromised long-term results, the surgeon may decide not to continue with implant placement.

Although such situations can understandably be disappointing for patients, these decisions are made in the interest of ensuring the safest and most appropriate treatment outcome possible.

Important Information Regarding Sinus Elevation and Travel

In some implant cases involving the upper jaw, a sinus elevation (sinus lift) procedure may be required to create sufficient bone support for successful implantation.

Patients undergoing sinus elevation should be aware that flying is strictly prohibited for a minimum of 10 days to 2 weeks following the procedure, depending on the individual healing process and the surgeon’s recommendation.

Changes in air pressure during air travel may negatively affect healing, increase discomfort, and raise the risk of complications involving the sinus area.

For this reason, patients requiring sinus elevation must plan alternative methods of travel after treatment, such as travelling by car or train where possible. Our team will always inform patients in advance if sinus-related procedures are anticipated so that appropriate travel arrangements can be made accordingly.

At Nádor Dental Clinic, patient safety and successful healing remain our highest priorities, and we strongly encourage all patients to carefully follow post-operative instructions provided by our oral surgeons.
